E-waste Management Policy

We at Videojet Technologies (I) Pvt. Ltd. (Videojet), believe in providing quality service to our customers without causing negative impact on the environment. Videojet strives to improve environmental performance of its product throughout its life cycle, by adopting best in class E-waste management practices.

Videojet’s recycling program reflects our efforts for E-waste management to eliminate environmental problems.

What is E waste?

As per the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016; which came in force from 1st October 2016, E-Waste refers to the electrical and electronic equipment, whole or in part discarded as waste by the consumers as well as rejects from manufacturing, refurbishment and repair processes. E waste contains substances that can have adverse effect on environment as well as human health.

Often E-waste comprises of toxic chemicals like lead, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) and Polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs). If not disposed in a scientific way, E-waste can cause negative impacts on environment and human health.

General Scheme of Collection for safe disposal/ recycling of printers including cartridges by Videojet

  • Customers with End of Life (EOL) printers/damaged printers/spare parts/chips from used cartridges should reach out to Videojet’s customer service (contacted via a Toll free number – 180030001199) team for potential trade in program or disposal;
  • For collection of electronics chips from printer cartridges, customer should contact Videojet for instructions on how to remove the chip and to arrange transport for the proper disposal; 
  • If applicable, Videojet sales team negotiates and sets up a trade in deal with the customer. The customers’ existing printer may be a) Videojet make or b) any other make;
  • Videojet’s E-waste collection plan is for PAN India and to execute the same Videojet has collaborated with GATI KINTETSU EXPRESS Pvt. Ltd., which is a reverse logistic service provider for collection of old printers from customer’s end. Gati Kintetsu express Pvt. Ltd. has total 545 collection centres across India (collection centre list and address attached).
  • Videojet invoices and ships the new printer to the customer as part of the trade in deal and intimates the logistics service provider from the nearest GATI collection centres to collect the old printers from customers’ site; Note: Dealers are not part of any kind of reverse logistics services
  • For printers under Lease/Demo/BIS testing/Sales etc., the sales team will intimate GATI to collect the printers from customers site post completion of agreed tenure;
  • Subsequently, the logistics team at Videojet will instruct GATI to deliver the printers to Videojet feeder warehouse located at Videojet Technologies (I) Pvt Ltd., A-16, MIDC Phase 1, Dombivali East, Maharashtra India-421203;
  • For Lease/Demo printers, post receipt of printer machines at the feeder warehouse, the technical team will inspect and explore the opportunity for repairing, refurbishing, and recovering parts of the equipment for potential reuse
  • Printers and parts that are not reused will be collected by the authorized E-waste Recycler M/s Eco Friend Industries
